What the law requires before anyone appears

Federal law requires the producer of an explicit depiction to hold a record identifying everyone who appears in it, together with proof that they were over eighteen at the time it was made. That obligation sits with the producer, and on this website the producer is us — which is what our record-keeping statement sets out.

In practice that means two documents: a government-issued photo ID, and a signed 2257 form. Nothing can be shot before both are on file.

How to send them

There is a form on this website for exactly that. You will need an account, because these are legal records and keeping them with your account is what lets you check on them later and send a replacement if we ask for one.

Both documents are encrypted before they are stored, and only this producer can open them. They are kept for as long as the law requires records of who appears on camera.

What happens next

A person reads what you send — nothing here is automatic. You can check the status on the same page at any time, and if something cannot be accepted you will see why, so you know what to re-send.

Sending your records means we are able to consider you; it is not an offer of work, and it does not commit either of us to anything. Nothing you send is published, and nothing you send appears anywhere on this website.
